St. Ignatius alumni honor Jiganti, Justice McMorrow Chicago attorney John J. Jiganti and Supreme Court Justice Mary Ann G. McMorrow will be honored by the St. Ignatius College Prep alumni Friday, Feb. 8, during a dinner at the W Chicago City Centre Hotel (formerly the Midland Hotel). Jiganti, a 1958 alumnus of St. Ignatius and a partner in Madden, Jiganti, Moore & Sinars, will receive the school's Award for Excellence in the Field of Law. Women learn trial skills Four organizations of women attorneys plan a two-part trial skills training program for lawyers with little or no trial experience. The sessions will take place at the Dirksen Federal Courthouse in Chicago from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, and 9 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, March 2. On Feb. 21, experienced women litigators will lecture and provide demonstrations of direct and cross examination, evidentiary foundations, and making and meeting objections. They also will coach participants on trial skills. On March 2, an intensive workshop will include direct and cross examination by participants, with evaluations by federal and state court judges. A luncheon will follow at the Chicago Bar Association. The sponsoring organizations are the ISBA Committee on Minority and Women Participation, the Women's Bar Association of Illinois, the Black Women Lawyers Association of Chicago, and the Chicago Bar Association Alliance for Women.
