Winnebago Bar ‘Hams It Up’ for food pantry provisions

Every year at about this time, members of the Winnebago County Bar Association “Ham It Up for the Holidays.” It’s not an ad hoc bar show, but a charitable initiative to provide dinner fare for those in need.

The goal is to top the $2,000 that was raised last year to purchase hams for families served by the Rockford Rescue Mission, the St. Patrick and Cornucopia Food Pantries, and other agencies.

“As in years past, there is a serious shortage of food and funds,” said executive director Holly Nash. “Local pantries struggle to meet the needs of their clients.”
