ISBA-Related Organizations For Today's LawyerIllinois Bar Center 424 S. Second Street Springfield, IL 62701 217/525-1760 800/252/8908 Funded by voluntary contributions, the Foundation makes grants to worthy charitable, educational and law related activities each year. The foundation also maintains a pension assistance program for needy lawyers or their spouses and provides a research fellowship to each Illinois law school. To help further the charitable and educational principles of the Foundation, The Fellows of the Illinois Bar Foundation was created. Membership in the Fellows provides the Illinois lawyer the opportunity to join with other top legal professionals in demonstrating their commitment to the legal profession. Membership in The Fellows is by a tax deductible contribution of $100 or $500 a year for ten years. Interest in the Foundation of The Fellows should be directed to the Foundation at 800-252-8908.
Illinois Lawyers' Political Action Committee (LAWPAC) The ISBA created the independent LAWPAC to support, by appropriate political educational and legislative activities, the officially adopted policies of the ISBA. LAWPAC provides financial support for candidates for nomination or election to legislative offices in Illinois as well.

Lawyer's Assistance Program, Inc. This organization was formed by the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association to aid lawyers with alcohol and drug addiction problems which interfere with their ability to practice professionally. Wholly confidential.
Lawyers Trust Fund of Illinois Established as a not-for-profit corporation by the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association in 1981 and operated under rules of the Illinois Supreme Court, the IOLTA program allows interest to be earned on nominal or short-term client deposits held in lawyer's trust accounts. The proceeds help provide legal assistance in civil cases to needy clients. Visit the LTF website for a list of "honor roll" banks that waive charges and fees for IOLTA accounts
Illinois Pro Bono Center The Illinois Pro Bono Center is a not-for-profit corporation chartered in 1992 to assist Illinois volunteer attorneys and provide support for organized local pro bono projects. Its primary goals are to establish volunteer lawyer programs in new areas and increase lawyer participation in existing programs.
