Nomination deadline March 21 for General Practice Award

Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 21, for the ISBA General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Section’s annual Tradition of Excellence Award.
The award honors a distinguished general practitioner for contributions to the profession and continuing legal education, and public service to the community. Nominees must be ISBA members with 20 or more years in practice.

The Tradition of Excellence Award is one of several that will be presented on Friday, June 27, during the ISBA Annual Meeting at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, St. Louis. Information follows about some of the others.
The Community Leadership Award is given by the Committee on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity to individuals who have worked to eliminate discrimination and foster understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and legal issues. Nomination deadline is Monday, March 31.
Young Lawyer of the Year Awards will be given to individuals under age 36 who practice in Cook County and outside the county. Nomination deadline is Wednesday, April 18.
Attributes include outstanding litigation or advocacy, counseling and pro bono work, advancement of the profession, published articles, bar association and public service activities.
The Law Student Division Public Service Award will be given to an ISBA Law Student Division member from one of the 13 affiliated law schools. One finalist from each school will be selected from nominations received by Wednesday, April 18.
The honor is based on extracurricular achievements, service-related activities that enhance professional responsibility, and public interest law contributions.
The honoree will be reimbursed for expenses of attending the ISBA Annual Meeting.
